Emma studied Photographic communication at Wimbledon School of Art and Falmouth College of Art. She then worked as a Freelance photographer for over twenty years across a wide range of sectors (cultural, charity, education, commercial, and private) specialising in portraiture, the natural world, and documentary photography.
She has worked as National Senior Photographer for the RSPCA since March 2020 and is highly committed to her role within the Brand team; helping to highlight the RSPCA as a dynamic, passionate, and modern animal welfare organisation. Emma is in awe of the work carried out by RSPCA field staff; their selfless quest to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals amid what are often hugely challenging situations.
Emma is driven every day to explore new ways in which the photographic medium can be used positively; as a tool to visually convey and communicate creative concepts, and educate others. She thrives on creating and sharing images that provoke empathy - reminding people what a beautiful planet we live on, in the hope that it inspires people to take better care of it and to treat all its inhabitants with equal kindness, compassion, and respect.
Emma has been awarded Category Winner in the “Documentary Series” of the prestigious British Wildlife Photography Awards, and Finalist in the International Garden Photographer of the year. Emma is proud to be a judge for the inspiring RSPCA's Young Photographer Awards.
